Thistles, Buccaneers, Ukraine and other church news

Twelve congregations from across Nashville will once again come together for this seasonal celebration, now in its third year. Come and join us! Our chancel choir will be Vine Street's musical representatives, and they will sing Many Gifts, One Spirit by Mary Lynn Lightfoot.

Back from Ukraine

Emily Crenshaw has completed her Peace Corps service in Ukraine! She is currently in Washington, D.C. with Elizabeth, and the two of them will drive to Nashville in time for Thanksgiving. Tim and Linda Crenshaw are hosting a Welcome Home Open House for Emily the Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 30, 4:00-6:00 p.m. at their home, 4321 Westlawn Dr. All who want to say hello to Emily are welcome!

On Tuesday, at the Second Anniversary celebration of Senior Ride Nashville at Vine Street, Ed Cole was honored as the first recipient of the annual Ed Cole Distinguished Service Reward. Ed was instrumental in launching Senior Ride Nashville, and he is currently serving as the board chair of this growing Middle Tennessee non-profit. Congratulations, Ed!

Staff appreciation

It's a Vine Street tradition to thank our staff with a financial gift at Christmastime. If you would like to participate, please mark a check memo or envelope with "Staff Appreciation" and drop it in the offering plate during worship or return it to the office by Wednesday, December 4. You may also make an online contribution on our website (please also note "Staff Gift" when completing the short form). Any amount is welcome. Questions? Please contact Melissa Freeman or Ed Cole.
