Outreach
As a grateful response to God’s grace in our lives, a mission of Vine Street Christian Church is to serve others locally and throughout the world. Offerings of time, talent and financial resources are shared as a community and as individuals—all part of God’s ongoing work in the world.
Ministries and partnerships we support include:
Insight Counseling Centers
Founded in 1985 with a single center located at Vine Street Christian Church, Insight Counseling Centers now has multiple locations serving communities throughout Middle Tennessee. In partnership with local congregations, the centers are committed to providing clinical and education services to all in need regardless of their background or ability to pay. Pastoral counseling is a unique form of counseling that uses spiritual resources as well as psychological understanding for healing and growth. It is provided by pastoral counselors who are not only mental health professionals but persons who have in-depth religious and theological training. Learn more about Insight Counseling Centers here.
Luke 14: 12
Luke 14: 12 is a non-profit soup kitchen providing free meals to the hungry and homeless of Nashville. Its mission is to address the nutritional needs of those who are inadequately fed. Each year the organization provides more than 24,000 meals to hungry individuals. The Vine Street community is committed to providing volunteers to this ministry at least once a month. Learn more about Luke 14: 12 here.
Room in the Inn
A program of the Campus for Human Development, Room in the Inn provides food and shelter for area individuals nightly from November 1 to March 31. Vine Street Christian Church is among the local partners hosting Room in the Inn guests. We host at least two weeks of shelter per season, and there are ministry opportunities for all ages and abilities. Learn more about Room in the Inn here.
Something to Eat
When someone in need comes to our door asking for food, we can provide a sack of items to help, thanks to our Something to Eat program. Volunteers shop from our grocery list and assemble the bags year round.
