On Sunday, Allison gave Advent calendars to the children - a bunch of tags in a Mason jar, each encouraging a simple practice to help families prepare for the coming of Christ. Have a blessed Advent!
Christmas musical
We hope you will join us at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday in Fellowship Hall, when the Children’s Choir will present their Christmas musical, Out Standing In Their Fields. After the show we will share a BBQ supper. There’s no charge, but the kids hope you will bring diapers—any size, any brand. To learn more about the need for diapers in our community, visit www.nashvillediaperconnection.org.
A special gift
It's a Vine Street tradition to thank our staff with a financial gift at Christmastime. If you would like to participate, please mark a check memo or envelope with "Staff Appreciation" and drop it in the offering plate or return it to the office by Wednesday, December 12. You may also make an online contribution on our website (please also note "Staff Gift" when completing the short form). Any amount is welcome. Questions? See Jim Carls or Julia Keith.
Attention parents and grandparents!
Please mark your calendars for January 13th after worship to discuss, dream, and plan for 2019 children and youth programming. Allison wants to hear from all voices, so brunch will be provided for all and childcare will be provided for our youngest ones in case they get a major case of the wiggles. Look for a follow up e-mail to help Allison know how much food to prepare!
Save the date
Please make a special effort to be in worship on January 27th for Allison’s Installation and Celebration Brunch! We will be installing Allison as our Associate Minister and having a brunch to officially welcome her and Jared.
Congregational meeting
The congregational meeting to adopt the revised bylaws will be this coming Sunday, immediately following worship. If your schedule will not permit you to vote in person, you may vote electronically here.
Poinsettia orders
We are still taking poinsettia orders to decorate the sanctuary for Christmas. The locally-grown plants are $12 each and may be purchased in memory or in honor of friends and loved ones. Forms are on the Sanctuary window sills by the doors. The deadline for orders is 9 a.m., Tuesday, December 11. The names of donors and those honored with the gifts will be listed in the bulletin on Sunday, December 23.
