Joy, joy, joy ... we are counting the days

unnamed (3).png

We invite members, friends, and neighbors to celebrate the birth of Christ with us! On December 24, we gather for worship at 4:30 p.m. and again at 11:00 p.m.

The 4:30 service is intergenerational, interactive, rich in stories and songs, and designed with young children in mind.

The 11:00 service is Vine Street’s take on the Lessons & Carols tradition; it includes communion and the symbolically rich passing of the flame from candle to candle.

If you would like to be one of the readers in the 11:00 service, please contact Thomas Kleinert

Nominate New Leaders

At our Congregational meeting on Sunday, December 9th, we unanimously adopted new bylaws that will guide our transition to a new governance structure. It is now necessary for us to elect several new leaders that will join the transition of current leaders as we adopt our new form of church leadership. Click here to learn more about this special election and ways to submit nominations. You may also submit nominations online.

Evensong

Montgomery Bell Academy and Vine Street Christian Church invite families, friends, and neighbors to an evensong service this coming Sunday at 6:00 p.m. in our sanctuary, with the MBA choirs singing several choral works. Thomas Kleinert will serve as one of the liturgists and offer a brief homily.

Leaders & Staff Christmas Party

The church leadership and staff will gather on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the home of Joe and Julia Keith, 6656 Clearbrook Drive, for this annual celebration.

Christmas Open House

The office of the Christian Church in Tennessee is now at Alameda Christian Church, 4006 Ashland City Hwy. Our Regional Minister and staff invite Tennessee Disciples to an open house on Monday, December 17, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Construction

Construction has begun on a new MBA parking lot at the south end of the church property. Several trees have already been removed, and grading work will begin very soon. On Monday, December 17, the trees along Montgomery Bell Avenue will be removed; we expect no major disruptions of typical traffic patterns around the church. We will share information as it becomes available.

Christmas Offering

One of the special offerings we receive each year is the Christmas Offering; it is used entirely to support the ministry of the regional church. We will receive this offering on this and the following Sunday. For more information, watch the video and read the flyer from the Regional Office. Thank you for your generous support of our regional ministry!
