Mission Trip to Memphis
Our youth and their leaders embark Monday for their annual summer mission trip, running through Thursday. They will travel west to serve with area nonprofits; experience the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Hotel; and will rest and worship thanks to the hospitality of Decatur-Trinity Christian Church.
Thank You, Jackie
Sunday, June 25 is the final Sunday of Jackie Halstead’s ministerial internship. We’ve enjoyed and appreciated Jackie’s ministry here for the last year as she works on her Master’s of Divinity and seeks ordination in the Disciples tradition. She, along with her husband Randy, are members of Vine Street, so we’re grateful we’ll continue to share the ministry of this congregation together. Jackie, thank you for teaching, leading worship and being a spiritual friend to us all!
Telling Summer Stories
Hey, kids! Beat the heat. Spend your Sunday mornings curled up on a comfy chair in the Children’s Wing. We’re introducing Summer Stories every Sunday from 9 to 10 a.m. Each morning, a storyteller will be present to share stories with the children and encourage them to share stories with one another. The Spark Bible will be available with dozens of other books for children. Paper and pencil will be handy for those who choose to write. Kids are welcome to bring their own books, too. We look forward to seeing you at Summer Stories.

Water Offering to Benefit Homeless Nashvillians
The days are getting shorter, now that summer has officially arrived, and hotter. Vine Street Christian Church will again receive a special offering of bottled water on Sunday, July 16. Our ministry partners at Open Table Nashville make sure our homeless neighbors have plenty to drink when it gets hot on the streets of Nashville. Please bring a pack or two of bottled water to worship on Sunday, July 16 to help with the effort. Thank you!
