Especially this week, we turn to God with gratitude for all the ways our world is blessed. And we look forward to the day when all will share in God's goodness in equal and just ways.
Welcome to Harvest Sunday
Join us today in thanksgiving to God! This morning we are collecting food for The Little Pantry that Could. If you plan to donate items, we will collect them during the worship service.
Immediately after worship, let’s head downstairs to Fellowship Hall for our annual Harvest Luncheon, a turkey & dressing meal catered by Copper Kettle. Suggested donation is $10 per adult, but please eat with us if you’ve earmarked your money for elsewhere.
Interfaith Thanksgiving Concert Tonight
Vine Street’s Chancel Choir will unite with neighborhood choirs to present “Together in Gratitude, Together in Song: An Interfaith Thanksgiving Concert” tonight at 6:30 p.m. at The Temple (5015 Harding Pike).
This free event features choral and liturgical music showcasing the shared ideologies of thanksgiving and gratitude. A festive reception follows the concert.
It’s Time for Poinsettias
We are now taking poinsettia orders to help decorate our Sanctuary during Advent. These locally-grown plants are $10 each and may be purchased in memory or in honor of friends and loved ones. Forms are in the Sanctuary windowsills by the doors. Deadline: Noon, Monday, Dec. 11.

Teens Retreat Nov. 21
This Thanksgiving retreat is laughable. That's right. The 7th-12th graders will be exploring the idea of Jesus’ sense of humor. To do this, they must also laugh. Come prepared to tell jokes, pull pranks and continue with the Brown Bag & Bible series. On Wednesday morning, the youth will have a practice Waffle breakfast to prepare for the following Sunday. Teens need to eat supper before they arrive. The times will be 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening Nov. 21 to 1 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon. Please RSVP to Hope Hodnett.
Waffle Breakfast Sets Table for Mission
The youth group will prepare and serve waffles Sunday, Nov. 26 at 9 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. This is a terrific opportunity to get out of the kitchen and support the mission work of our teenagers. For just $5 you’ll have unlimited waffles, a toppings bar and fairly-traded coffee from Bongo Java. We look forward to seeing you at the Waffle Breakfast!
