Vine Street at the Movies will gather on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. to view 2016’s reboot of the classic horror-comedy, Ghostbusters (rated PG-13.) In it, a foursome of highly capable women take on the worst of New York's ghosts and spirits. With brief cameos from the 1984 original adding to the fun, comedy stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones provide both big laughs and subtle but positive role models for young women everywhere.
This is a thoroughly enjoyable addition to the genre!
Megan Garber (The Atlantic) says, "... the new Ghostbusters is good. It is actually pretty great! It’s funny, and nuanced in its funniness: hehs to haaaaaaas to lols. Big-budget movie comedies of the moment tend to involve jokes that mix the high and the low, the soaringly human and the stupidly so; Feig is one of Hollywood’s most skilled strikers of that balance.
