During Advent we recalibrate ourselves to God’s ongoing desire to break into the world for the healing of the nations.
Especially this time of year, we long to be connected in heartfelt ways to one another. Our souls long to be connected to God in refreshed ways.
Across the next three weeks we will have an opportunity to pray in the Chapel for about 30 minutes, according to the following schedule:
Tuesdays, Dec. 5, 12 & 19 7:30 a.m. (with Lydia Grubb, Greg Rumburg)
Wednesdays, Dec. 6, 13 & 20 Noon (with Julia Keith)
Thursdays, Dec. 7, 14 & 21 6 p.m. (with Camille Biter, Joyce Crowell)
Guided by a leader and sharing liturgical words together, we will offer intercessions for our world, for our city and for Vine Street Christian Church. We will listen, too, as God reveals a new song in the retelling of the Christ child’s birth.
We will pray as people following the time-honored witness of the church believing intercessory prayer changes us. We will pray, trusting in God, believing intercessory prayer changes our world.
Around the globe, Christians are praying the hours, and we will add our voices, too. Will you join the chorus of those praying for God to redeem the world? You may attend one session per week or as many times as you wish.
“How silently, how silently, the wondrous gift is given! So God imparts to human hearts the joys of highest heaven. No ear may hear Christ coming, but in this world of sin, where meek souls will receive him still, the dear Christ enters in….”
