Wednesday prayer requests

Jim Zamata asks for our prayers. “Doctors think my brother Glenn is likely near the end of his life. We ask for prayers for the family and especially his wife Peggy.” Thank you for lifting up Glenn and all who love him.

In response to the recent severe tornado damage, particularly in western Kentucky, our Regional Minister, Rev. Dr. Christal Williams invites us to

  • Make a donation to Week of Compassion where 100% of your gift will be used according to your designation;

  • at the appropriate time, gather Mission Teams all over the region to go… assist… and aid the Christian Church in Kentucky with clean up work and rebuilding; and

  • offer our prayers of support and love for all those effected. “Please keep in prayer, Rev. Rachel Nance Woehler, Area Minister, and the General Minister & President, Rev. Dr. Donald K. Gillett and all in that Region who are rebuilding their hearts and lives.”

Katie McLaughlin's grandma

Katie McLaughlin’s grandmother, Dorothy Hood, died early this morning. Funeral plans are still being made, but the family hopes to gather on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. An added burden for Katie has been that, due to pandemic rules, she was not able to visit her grandma in the nursing home when they traveled to Illinois for Thanksgiving. Thank you for remembering Katie and all who love Dorothy in your prayers.

Wednesday prayers

Micah Snow’s grandfather is now receiving hospice care for end-stage Alzheimer’s disease. “If you would, say a prayer for peace & comfort during his final days, and especially keep my grandmother in your thoughts as well. As a family, we’ve been preparing for this day for a bit, but it’s still hard, regardless.”

Jack Wallace

Please continue to keep Jack Wallace in your prayers. He has had preparatory surgery to have his injured bladder removed. We hope with him and Joanne that, while the road to full recovery will be long, he will finally be able to go out, travel, and do the things he enjoys doing. He appreciates your cards, emails, and text messages!

Tuesday prayers

Walter Seifert is hospitalized with high fever; he will undergo a series of tests. Please keep him and Dean in your prayers. We hope with them that he will get better soon.
