Thank you for your prayers

Ollie Thompson, the mother-in-law of Julia Keith, and grandmother of Johanna and Jude, is in surgery after breaking her femur on Wednesday. We pray for a successful procedure and quick recovery.

Shelton Pilkinton died at home on Thursday night. Thanks be to God for the life of this kind man. We continue to hold his family close in prayer, and we will share funeral plans once they have been confirmed.

Erica Hayden got word that her grandmother, Evelyn McKee, died early Friday morning in Pennsylvania. “She had been in decline for awhile, so while this isn't a surprise, the finality is tough. I ask for prayers for my family, particularly my mother and grandfather (they had been married for 65 years!).” 

Shelton Pilkinton

Shelton Pilkinton is nearing the end of his earthly life. We are grateful that he is at home, surrounded by family, and well cared for by his hospice team. Thank you for keeping him and all who love him in your prayers.

Allison Hutton's family

Allison Hutton is celebrating that her sister, Tiffany Heath has completed all her cancer treatments. They will participate in the Booby Bolt walk for breast cancer on Oct. 8th in Pleasant View. She asks that we continue to remember her mother, Marie Heath in our prayers. She is a resident at The Meadows.

Allison Jaggers

Allison Jaggers, the wife of Stephen Moseley’s cousin, was in a bad car accident in Denver on Wednesday night. She is suffering internal bleeding and broken bones and is in the ICU awaiting more surgeries. Please pray for her and her family.

Marsha McNatt

Thank you for continuing to keep the family of Lester McNatt’s sister-in-law, Marsha, in your prayers. Visitation will be at Lane Funeral Home (601 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, TN 37415) on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 4:00-6:00 with a service to follow. A graveside service will be held at Kennesaw Memorial Park (1306 Whitlock Avenue SW, Marietta, GA 30064) on Saturday, September 9 at 12:00 noon.

Wednesday Prayers

Helen Trabue and Malinda Moseley ask for prayers for their parents and cousins. Their aunt Katharine Huffman passed passed away early this morning in Memphis.

Lester McNatt’s sister-in-law Marsha passed away this morning. Lester asks for prayers for the family, especially her children Melody, Molly and Max.

The Stevenson family

Cate Mart asks for our prayers for her friends, the Stevenson family. “Josh and Anna and their daughters, Hadessah and Charlotte, but particularly Anna. She is about to deliver her third stillborn child, this one at 34 weeks. His name is Elisha and he is very loved. He joins his sisters who passed before him, Eden and Evangeline.”

Lester McNatt asks for prayer for his sister-in-law Marsha She had open heart surgery yesterday and is in Cardiac CCU.

Risley Lawrence

Risley Lawrence died on Sunday, August 27, 2023. He was 103 years old. Thanks be to God for the life of this faithful servant. Please remember his family in your prayers. Funeral arrangements have not been confirmed, and we will share details as they become available.

Risley Lawrence

Risley Lawrence is hospitalized with symptoms of a stroke and pneumonia. He will have a feeding tube inserted today to make sure he receives proper nutrition. Thank you for keeping Risley and his family in your prayers.

Thursday prayers

Judi Sachs has outpatient surgery today.

Dena Oneal asks for prayers for her mother, Kay Ellis, who had spinal surgery on Wednesday and is beginning PT.

Judi Sachs, who has been battling cancer for 4 1/2 years, asks for prayers for her upcoming surgery on Thursday, August 17th. Judi wants to express her gratitude for all of the love, prayers and support she has had through this time. She is especially grateful for the special people who are going to get her there and get her through it. 

Bob Register

Rachel Dixon’s brother, Bobby, has lung cancer. He will have surgery, but it hasn’t been scheduled yet. Thank you for remembering him in your prayers in the days and weeks ahead.

Judi Sachs

Judi Sachs asks for our prayers. Tests have shown that her cancer has not spread, but the tumor that had been shrinking has started growing again. We hope with her that the remaining treatment options will be effective. “I do have some options but right now it's pretty scary.”

Prayers for friends

Jeff Miller asks for prayers for his friend, Walt, who is undergoing treatment for stage IV pancreatic cancer.

Jane Short is recovering from hand surgery; she asks for prayers for her friend, Liz. who has recently been diagnosed with stage IV glioblastoma and has started treatments.

Thank you for adding your prayers to the layers of care with which families, friends, medical teams, and neighbors surround Walt and Liz, and thank you for your prayers for Jane’s full recovery.

Bob Goidel's grandson

Bob Goidel’s grandson, Charlie, will have chest surgery next week on Friday. Please keep him and the family in your prayers.

Pat Foster

Pat Foster died suddenly on May 13, 2023; she was 91 years old. Her funeral will be on Tuesday, May 16, at 11am, at West Harpeth Funeral Home, with visitation before the service, 9-11am. The burial will be at 2pm in Cookeville.

Jomelia Duke Chenault

Jomelia Duke Chenault, age 92, died on May 5, 2023. She was the mother of Duke Chenault, Sr. (Julie Fleming) and grandmother of Duke, Jr., Elise, and McLean. Thank you for keeping the family in your prayers as they mourn her loss. Read obituary

Amanda Dixon's dad

Amanda Dixon asks for prayers for her father, Francis Lewis, who is 85 and is receiving treatment for esophageal disease and is suffering quite a lot. “We are hoping that his caregivers can find a treatment plan that will give him some relief and help him enjoy life (and food) again.”
