Joe Keith

Joe Keith had chemo treatment #8 on Thursday. In two weeks, he will have a PET CT scan to see how everything is going. His doctor says things are looking really good and he expects a very favorable result. For Joe, It's going to be a long two week wait for the PET CT scan, so let’s pray for him and his family, and that the results will be as encouraging as hoped for!

Tuesday prayers

Shelton Pilkinton’s older brother, Marion Odell “Mo” Pilkinton died yesterday. Shelton’s address is 6462 Fleetwood Drive, Nashville TN 37209. Thank you for surrounding him with your prayers and love.

Tallu Schuyler Quinn was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and had a biopsy earlier today. Tallu is the wife of Robbie Quinn, and they are the parents of two young children. Alec Miller and family

Please surround the Millers with your prayers. They suspect they got infected with COVID, but tests came back negative twice. Now their doctor suspects that Alec may be infected anyway. Alec asks for our prayers, “that I get better from covid complications and for our family to being able to manage things as we work through it all.”

Joyce Crowell

Thank you for continuing to remember Joyce in your prayers. Her recovery from a recent heart procedure has not been a smooth and quick as anyone had hoped, to put it mildly. Now there is infection in the lining of her heart. We hope with her and Sherry that she will soon make a full recovery.

Tuesday prayers

Joyce Crowell returned to the hospital today. They suspect that there may be some bleeding after Friday’s procedure. Thank you for your prayers!

Wednesday morning update: Joyce spent the night in ICU, but will move to a regular room this morning. She is expected to remain hospitalized for a few days.

Joe Keith will have several scans done on Wednesday to assess the response of the tumors to the chemo treatments. He will get results on Thursday. Let’s surround him and his family with our prayers.

Joyce Crowell

Joyce Crowell will have a heart procedure tomorrow, Friday. “I’m a lot less anxious about this one than I was in December, but it’s similar, and they are messing with my heart, so prayers are appreciated.” We are grateful that her daughter, Sherry will be allowed to be and stay with her. She expects to be hospitalized for one night. Thank you for your prayers.

Friday prayers

We remember in our prayers the families and friends of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor. We pray for strength and comfort, for justice, and for the deep transformation of our society, that we may do our part for healing the wounds of slavery.

Lois Smith died on Saturday, May 23, in Boone, NC. She was 96 years old. Her daughter’s address is Patty Smith, 293 Will Glen Road, Sugar Grove, NC.

Thursday prayers

Jane and Brock Short are in Florida, grateful for brief visits with her dad who is nearing the end of his life. Thank you for remembering them in your prayers.

April Hefner is scheduled for hip surgery on Tuesday. Greg says, “This will correct a nagging issue, and we're hopeful a spring will return to her step in 4-6 weeks.” Thank you for surrounding them with your prayers.

Monday prayers

Inez Miller died this morning. We commend her to God’s unfailing mercy and pray that she has found joy and peace everlasting in the presence of God. Please remember Dick and Sharalena Miller in your prayers along with all who love Inez.

Jane Short asks for prayers for her father, John Bonnell, 91, who lives in Jupiter, Florida in a Memory Care facility.  He was hospitalized twice last week and is experiencing some changes which indicate that his end of life is coming very soon.  Due to the COVID-19 restrictions in the facility, Jane is unable to go see him, and the best they can do under the circumstances are supervised phone calls. This is a very difficult situation for Jane and her dad, and she is grateful for our prayers.

Inez Miller is at death’s door. We are grateful that Dick and Sharalena have been able to be with her for short visits.

Joe Keith will get important reports about his treatment plan on Thursday.

Linda Parker will continue chemo treatments on Thursday.

Bess Henderson continues to heal and recover at home.

Susan Cole, Ed Cole’s sister-in-law, has Parkinson’s.

Joyce Peacock’s daughter, Kathryn has made a full recovery from Covid-19 and returned to work.

Kalie Rhodes asks for prayers for her mom, Karen, who is a healthcare worker, as well as for herself and the transitions she finds herself in.

Matthew Mart continues his ICU rotation at Vanderbilt. Cate and the kids are with her parents in Kentucky.

We have been asked to lift up in prayer Kelly Newman, the Velazquez family (six members have tested Covid-19 positive), Abi’s friends Juliana and Mike, Fay Delk’s friend Jennifer, who works as a nurse, and Allison Ruari’s cousin Vivian who tested positive for Covid-19.
